Red Raw Rice is high in nutritional value. This variety from Sri Lanka has a low GI and a higher level of antioxidant components. Slightly nuttier in flavour than its white counterpart the red hue is from the anthocyanin content as the rice is partially hulled. It has a nutty earthy flavour and is staple in most Sri Lankan homes. Once cooked its a lovely pink color!

Was expecting the rice to be more flavourful. The only aromat was pandan but you couldn’t really taste it in the final product.
